Soul Warmers

As cold weather descends upon the Tennessee Valley, we know that it is time for Gate 11 Distillery to bring back our seasonal warm cocktails. We call them Soul Warmers – because that’s what they do.  Its an exciting time of year at the Choo Choo and our creative bartenders has found a way to get all of our spirits into this seasonal act.

A perineal favorite is Boozey Hot Chocolate. This drink features a ounce of Gate 11’s Double Gold winning Vodka, cocoa and a peppermint candy is melted into the cocoa. We call it Peppermint Patty in honor of one of our owner’s wife. Using house made caramel sauce and Gate 11 White Rum we have create Hot Buttered Rum. Drawing from tradition we combine our Rye Whiskey with coffee and our sinfully delicious house-made Irish Cream to create an out of this world Irish Coffee. Some of these proceeds from this one are donated to a local no-kill animal shelter.

For the more daring customers we offer Grog. Bartenders warm lime juice, add some cinnamon and finish by adding your choice of Vodka and Rum. It has been a hit every winter. New this season, we will be adding warm Agave drinks using Gate 11’s Once Agave Blanco. Our Caliente Margarita is a straight up hot margarita but if you need to take the spicy up a notch or two you might opt for the Mucho Caliente version made house infused jalapeño Once.

The Winter Season at the Choo Choo is always exciting and a great place to come. Whether you are bringing the family for ice skating at Ice on the Landing, visiting Santa Claus in the dome Lobby or inspecting progress on the new renovations going on in the Choo Choo Gardens, you can bring a Soul Warmer along with you to enhance the experience.
